Progress Together has launched a new series of member events to allow financial services firms to learn from each other when working to improve socio-economic diversity at senior levels.

The Mentoring Circles programme offers an opportunity for decision-makers and influencers in diversity, equity and inclusion to discuss topics such as intersectionality, culture, systemic barriers and leadership.

The first three sessions, timetabled for February and March, focus on intersectionality – the way other characteristics such as gender and ethnicity create a layered affect when combined with socio-economic background.

Ken Kittoe, from Axa, who attended Progress Together’s first ever Mentoring Circle, said: “The Mentoring Circle is going really well, I’m enjoying meeting with ethnic minority peers from completely different industries to the one I work in.

“We speak about our lived experiences, how to overcome various obstacles and also share best practice – as an Inclusion Manager I’m definitely feeling the value of hearing what is working well/not so well in the inclusion space across different industries.”

Mentoring Circles are delivered in partnership with DE&I specialists Lara Ayash and Allyson Davies. from LADs Consulting.

Mentoring Circles are open to all Progress Together members. For more information and to book, email info@progresstogether.co.uk
