Brief description
Zurich provides a suite of general insurance and life insurance products to retail and commercial customers and brokers. We supply personal, commercial and local authority insurance through a number of distribution channels, and offer a range of protection, retirement and savings policies available online and through financial intermediaries for the retail market and via employee benefit consultants for the corporate market. Zurich employs approximately 5,000 people in the UK using a hybrid-working model. Based in a number of locations across the UK – with large sites in Birmingham, Farnborough, Glasgow, London, Swindon and Whiteley.
Why is socio-economic diversity important to your company, particularly in relation to progression of talent from all backgrounds?
For organisations to meet the varied needs of its customer base, it’s vital to recruit and retain employees from a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds. Only by doing so, can a business truly understand the different perspectives and needs of its customers. This must also be the case at all levels – from those on the front line, supporting customers with their different claims, through to those developing products and services that will meet specific needs. A diverse employee base means diversity of thought and decision making which not only makes business sense, it is simply the right thing to do.
